TAGGING
We all want to be famous, right?
Well maybe not all of us but part of the point of belonging to a
community like this is to share your stuff with everyone else
whether its to promote yourself or your organisation or just get
out there. In order to do that you will need to know how to tag
your content correctly. Whenever you upload a piece of content
whether it be your latest literary masterpiece via a blog, proof
that you did what you say you did in the form of a photo or your
Quinton Tarentino Oscar rivalled video, you will have the
opportunity to tag it.
Tag tip 1: Make it relevant Make sure your tag is directly relevant
to your discipline eg climbing, your location eg Table Mountain,
the person featured eg Joe Blogs and any situational tag that might
help people find your content eg opening new route.
Tag Tip 2 :
How – using quotes Now that you know what to tag, lets talk quickly
about how. If your tag is one word eg Harness no need to worry. If
your tag is 2 words you will need to do like so, “beal harness” so
that the search engine knows you want it to be 1 tag phrase.
Tag Tip 3 :
Don’t be shy You can not have too many tags, so go wild.
DO YOU OWN IT?
Please make sure that what ever you are uploading is either yours
or you have permission to do so. Any copyright infringements are
not our responsibility, they are yours. If we find you are using
someone else’s content or the true owner contacts us and can prove
that the content is theirs, we will have to delete it. Then you
would have spent all that time uploading, tagging and becoming
famous, only for it to be deleted. If we find that you are doing
this regularly, remember we have the ability to ban you from the
network. And remember this, we are always watching…hahaha…!!!
PLAY NICE
Don’t be rude, don’t slag another Edge member, don’t get all hectic
on us and everything will be fine. Treat this as your network,
behave as you would as if it was yours and we will all get along
just fine.
